The myths that surround Affiliate Marketing are every where and like most myths just that.
Never believe everything you hear or read.
As with every marketing channel and business, there are highs and lows, truths and myths.
Today, we debunk five Affiliate Marketing myths.
1 Affiliate Marketing is easy money.
At the SFM, we love Affiliate Marketing, however we advise that it is not an overnight, make-me-rich-quick business. Affiliate Marketing is just like any other business, it need hard work, dedication and you will need to have money to start it up, you need to identify products that you think fit your audience, question and listen to your audience.
You will make mistakes and changes to how you do things along the way. The great thing is that this is all possible in Affiliate Marketing due to the control you have over exactly what advertisement you place the old “where, when and how.”.
2 Affiliate Marketers are just spammers.
We all hate spam email, but it has nothing to do with Affiliate Marketing.
Your blog is a business and you spend your time and money creating content that entertains your audience.
Placing ads on your blog, reviewing relevant products honestly, and doing all that while earning money for your hard work is certainly not spamming your audience.
Your content is valuable, and you should earn money for the value that you provide.
3 You do not have enough quality traffic for Affiliate Marketing.
There is volume, and then there is quality.
Affiliate Marketing actually works best when quality wins.
If your audience is the right target for a specific product it matters less if the audience is big or small.
The greatest benefit to using Affiliate Marketing is the flexibility that is allows you the content provider.
You get to choose exactly which product you want to put in front of your audience, because nobody knows your audience better than you do.
The truth is, your blog has an audience. That audience is often passionate about the same things that you are passionate about.
4 You will send traffic, but never be paid.
There are pitfalls with every business, but by partnering with SFM you greatly limit your risk.
We have a reputation for being honest, ethical, and certainly for paying all of our customers on time and accurately and the affiliate pay outs range from around the $20 mark into $1000’s for the Big Ticket Items. Which is where I would suggest you concentrate you time and effort, as it costs the same to get a small ticket as it does a big ticket, you just need to target well and the SFM teaches how that is done.
5 Your website or blog does not lend itself to Affiliate Marketing.
The truth is, your blog has an audience.
That audience is often passionate about the same things that you are passionate about. Affiliate Marketing is not just about one commercial niche.
Affiliate Marketing is simply sharing with your audience; sharing products and information that relate to them.
Every audience has an interest, and the trick is to find the right one.
