Today is Market day in Buckingham town centre, the market contains mostly “Fruit & Veg” stalls, however it has a cards stall, breads and cakes, charity nick nacks, sometimes a country wear / combat wear stall.
I love that because I am the boss I can set the hours I’m in the office, I do actually work more hours than I did in the corporate job, however I’m not commuting 3 hours a day any more, that saves me 40 days a year !, however as the boss I can stop when I fancy, start early / late, work all weekend or not, it’s totally up to me to work when I want and take time off whenever I like. without having to schedule it in with the boss.
Last week I was able to watch our horse’s having their backs checked and massaged, the other week I got to chat with the farrier when he fitted my horses shoes, today I went to the Buckingham market and purchased local ( mostly ) fruit and vegetables and then started work at 8:30 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. At ‘lunch time’ I’ll go for a 15 minute walk around the fields and through the village of Tingewick.
The best part about shopping in the market is that most of the fruit and vegetables are locally produced and the price is far lower than those at Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi and Sainsbury’s in Buckingham.
The size of the fruit and veg is x10 compared to the wrapped produce in the supermarkets, for example the cucumber, tomatoes and garlic I got today are MASSIVE… And of course they actually taste of something! 🙂
