Sound good in practise, so been trying out today, after a morning of standing at my make shift standing desk, I have the following observations;
You really need to use a ‘proper’ raiser, especially in my case when the washing machine needed to be emptied!
My brain feels more awake, my back aches, my knees ache, the shoulders ache, the mouse is in the wrong location, it’s bloody uncomfortable…. but I’m dying slower ! burning more calories….. so may be I should continue and I will get better at standing….
The sitting might be killing you but I think standing does too, my Dad stood all his career at a machine grinding metal into shapes and parts ( Concorde being one and Marley tile moulds another ) and he suffers bad knees, bad back, bad veins and stood his whole life and cycle to and from work every day…. so whats best ? probably a bit of both
So I’m going to invest in a proper laptop riser and stand some times and sit others… when the technology gets into the 21st century ( of my head ) it will be a case of while walking the hills I can read / write / blog / surf / tweet / update facebook, linkedin and all the other social media from a device thats embedded into me….. 🙂 truly part of the net, then how do I digital detox ! oh always a down side eh !
So I’m buying this laptop riser, still not sure about the mouse use, I prefer an external one to the pad under keyboard…..
I’ll update you on how good it is soon…
