I was looking for a tool to allow me to make parts of an image clickable, for example in the image below I wanted to be able to click on the Twitter or Facebook or other social media image and link off to my own Twitter or Facebook pages….
I found a great free resource at : http://www.maschek.hu/imagemap/imgmap
It’s all fairly straight forward, you place your image URL into the form and then map out the shape of each area on the image and specify where to link to;
For example my form filled in looks like this :
The software tool provides you with HTML code that you copy into your web page and attach to the image required ( use the how to guide on the page http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/special/map.html and you then have an image as below that allows you to click on the individual elements and be sent off to the required link / web site. Cool eh 🙂
Try it out click on the Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Youtube and I left the Linkedin link off to show it doesn’t map areas you do not want it to 🙂 – try it out and see it working.
