This week I felt the need for some spiritual time, it’s been all work, leads and getting stuff done, trying to force success…
I received an email from the Dyer autoresponder offering the movie “The Shift”, so I followed the link (it is also available on Youtube if you search for it ) and have just watched 2 hours of a great movie….
It is full of quotes and insight; some of the quotes I love are:
“Change your thoughts change you life”
“We come from Spirit”
The film is well made and centres around the making of an interview with Wayne and it looks at a number of different scenarios’s that a family, a couple, an individual are going through and the flow is easy to watch and insightful…
We often search for our purpose and in the film Wayne notes that in that small spec that created life, also contained our purpose, our purpose is within us and we just need to listen and hear it; he notes that in the first 9 months of life we do not have to worry about anything, it’s all taken care of, so why not the next 90 years too?
The issue is explained as the human Ego, from birth onwards we a run by our Egos.
We identify ourselves by our possession. We think we need to achieve, what we accomplish defines us, for example athletes feel the need to compete to be the best, we feel our reputation is important, that what others think of us is important, all Ego.
The film goes on to note that the Ego separates us from God and that We are from the Source (God) and already connected to it, yet our Ego thinks we are not of it and wants us to be separate.
We all feel like we have a destiny, and we struggle to find it, yet it is already within us, we need to stop struggling and follow it, so that fulfilled feeling takes over from the Ego, and the need to compete and win.
It’s called Dharma, living for your purpose, your inner calling.
It goes on and explains “The Shift”, the feeling of fear but with the feeling that you are being guided by something larger than yourself.
This shift is known as the “Quantum Moment”, the moment of the shift. Wayne Dyer has a blog entry about this very point at wake-up-call-from-heaven.
The Quantum Moment is seen as being Vivid, A Suprise, Benevolent, Lasting forever….
To find/receive your Quantum Moment you need to be soft and flexible, let yourself be controlled by the source..
It re-asks the question “You had everything you needed in the first 9 months, so why not the next 90 years?” and answers “Because you interfere”…..
“Don’t die with your music still in you”
Finding your calling is important and the statement “Don’t die with your music still in you” sums it up well.
I like the idea that the word “Enthusiasm” means “The God Within”….
The Quantum Moment is the moment you turn your reality upside down……
Wayne talks about a survey taken of Men and Women before and after their own individual Quantum Moments and it makes interesting reading:
Here are the BEFORE Quantum Moment lists of the top 5 things that are important to Men and Women:
- Fitting In
Here are the AFTER Quantum Moment lists of the top 5 things that are important to Men and Women:
- Personal Peace
- God’s Will
- My Own Personal Growth
- Self Esteem
WOW ! talk about ‘talk to me’….. !!!
- I’ve been chasing all the top 5 for MEN for all my life; until recently when I felt the need to;
- Reconnect with my estranged Brother
- The pull in the last few days and guided by circumstances that are strange, from tweets to the book “Rhinocerotic Relativity” and comments from friends to review the spiritual side of my quarters of life ; MIND, BODY, SOUL and SPIRIT…
- Be totally honest about the business I’m in and it’s true points of possible success rather than the hype some use.
- And before starting in business I craved Personal Peace, the corporate life was killing my soul, it was not being fed and I felt the need to move on, to what?, I still seek fully, however each day I feel close to seeing it and now know it’s within and I just need to open up to it and let it be, release the EGO and let it continue the startup of my business / success / pay back to society…. Which I hope is God’s Will too….
All a bit heavy I’m sure and ‘out there’ for most who read, I do not offer an apology for this; as I know that within each of us the feeling of needing fulfillment is strong, it often is hidden and quietened by us, as we are too afraid to listen, I know it’s taken me 31 years to break free and face the fear ….. myself ….my destiny….my calling……my What and Why……
Once I know it fully I’ll tell the world ……
The Film continues and Wayne notes a book
“There is a spiritual solution to every problem”,
sounds like a good read for the near future…
in fact I just went to good old Amazon and purchased The Book on Amazon
The later stages of the film answer the What very well with the statement for me that sums it up and I see some clarity of my What: “Forget about yourself, reach out and help others“.
I also like: “If you’ve ever felt inspired by a purpose or calling, you know the feeling of Spirit working through you.” and “You Attract What You Are”…..
Detach from the Ego
The final stage of the film notes that you need to detach from the Ego and be/give the 4 virtues:
- Reverence For Life
- Sincere [ Honest ]
- Gentle [ Kindness ]
- Support [ Service ]
In conclusion, a great film and I recommend all watch it and learn…..
